A National call to Simulation Professionals across Australia
Simulation is everywhere in Australia’s workforce—but it is not yet visible in our national statistics.
This site, sponsored by Simulation Australasia, is part of a national effort to ensure that the work of simulation professionals is recognised, counted, and understood in Australian occupation and employment data.
One word can make expert work visible. By including the single word ‘simulation’ as all – or part – of your occupation in your 2026 Census form, you are contributing to a national effort to ensure the field is recognised and valued.
“Most of what works in modern life was tested, rehearsed, modelled, or improved through simulation.
You do this work.
You know this.
But the census doesn’t”

Why is this important?
• Surgeons train with it;
• Pilots rehearse with it;
• First responders prepare with it;
• Defence personnel rely on it;
• Technicians develop tools and run it;
• Educators, engineers, designers, researchers, and analysts use it to improve decisions, systems, and outcomes.
If this is your work, you may be part of a profession that is not yet visible in national data. We’d like to change that in the census
